Notice of Annual General Meeting and Election of Directors for 2026-2027

The Annual General Meeting of the Balmain Sailing Club will be held in the clubhouse, commencing at 7pm on Wednesday 22 July 2026.
The Purpose of the meeting is:
- confirm the minutes of the previous annual general meeting held on 16 July 2025.
- to issue committee reports on the activities of the club during the clubs past financial year.
- to elect office bearers and ordinary committee members, and
- to issue and consider any financial statement and/or report to members as required under the Act.
Election of persons to fill vacant officers and directors roles will take place at the meeting.
The BSC has 8 directors of which 4 are required to be elected each year for a period of 2 years. This allows for continuity in the committee.
Positions which will be declared vacant and for which nominations are called are:
- Commodore: ( Campbell Reid is the current Commodore)***
- Treasurer : ( Joost Bekker is the current Treasurer ) ***
- Director: ( Geoff Watkins is the current Director )
- Director: ( Louise Blair is the current Director) ***
*** Note : Commodore Campbell Reid ,Treasurer Joost Bekker and Director Louise Blair have indicated that they will be re-nominating for their current positions. Director Geoff Watkins is yet to advise of his intentions.
Members wishing to nominate to contest the election are required to submit their nomination form no later than 5pm 8 July 2026, nominations must be on the attached nomination form and then emailed to “The Secretary” info@balmainsailingclub.com
The nominees application should include a short typed outline of the nominees experience and why members should consider voting for them which will then be circulated via email to members prior to the election. It would be appreciated if the short outline could be typed.
