2026 Balmain Regetta Information and Save the Date
March 09, 2026
The 2026 Balmain Regatta and Workboat Convoy will be held on Sunday, October 25. Please save the date to be part of our unique maritime celebration.
The first Regatta was held in 1849 making it Australia's oldest regatta and the last of the community-based events of its kind. This year's Regatta celebrations will begin with the workboat convoy which set sail at 11:30am followed by sailing events starting at noon.
In recent years the convoy has included up to 60 vessels ranging from Svitzer tug with a water cannon display to the tall ship James Craig and a fleet of modern and historic workboats, tugs and launches and the event is open to all working boat enthusiasts.
Our sailing fleet ranges from the historic 18 foot skiffs to modern racing yachts and the Regatta courses are a tour of the harbour, its island and landmarks.
On shore, the Balmain Sailing Club hosts its famous Boats, Bands and BBQ shore party which attracts participants and a large community crowd.
Entry and event details will be updated on the BSC website as they are finalised so please stay in touch.
