  3. Issues Arising from previous meeting
    1. No April meeting
    2. Leichhardt Council follow up letter to the new Mayor carried forward BMG/DS
    3. Pontoon project carried forward
    4. Back-up of files JM to brief David McGregor. Also draft something for Undercurrent. JM
    5. Undercurrent DS to co-ordinate; trying to enlist help of Kim Elsey. DS
    6. 2002/2003 financial reports new bookkeeper, Debbie, has sent a trial balance to
    7. Robert Vine. Noted

    8. Liquor Licence/RSA 25 members now certified by LAB. SP to set up a register of
    9. those trained. DS to ask all other members to notify the Club if they are RSA certified (via

      Undercurrent). Another training session to be organised before start of twilight series. DS/SP

    10. AGM 8/8/04 to be advertised in Undercurrent. DS
    11. Sponsors Board Rowan Fotheringham organising. Noted
    12. Planning meeting 26/6/04 to be advertised in Undercurrent. NE to e-mail DS with
    13. suggestions for agenda for an open meeting. NE

    14. Rescue boat/trailer repairs EK to check with MC. EK
    15. Pontoon usage sign FT to remove line regarding maintenance and replace it with
    16. wording to be agreed on by Sailing Committee. BMG to e-mail FT with wording. BMG/FT

    17. Water restriction signs not discussed.
    18. Membership promotion new season membership forms to be on 3 forms like last year
    19. including CAT 7 details provided by EK. New forms to be sent to all members. JM/EK

      Agreed that membership fees will not increase, however YA fees are increasing nominally.

    20. 2004 Balmain Regatta DS reported that Sarah Lorden RE had contacted him to advise

that they were reducing their sponsorship to $5,000 this year. DS also noted that new

sponsors would have to be found. DS to initiate first Regatta meeting. DS

  2. Presentation Night successful night with about $1,000 income from bar sales. Thanks to

    the Social Committee.

  3. Secretary/Membership Report
  4. We now have approximately 200 members, and have taken approximately $44,000 in

    membership, race and storage fees plus hall hire and donations.

  7. Public Relations
  8. No report.

  9. Building Captain
  10. FT tabled attached report of building works completed. It was agreed that FT could spend no

    more than $2,500 replacing the fence and repairing/replacing the gates to the deck. He was

    also requested to get the contractor to check the safety of the "bridge" from the clubhouse.

    It was also agreed that FT could build a permanent structure in front of the ladies toilets (if

    available for under $50). FT

  12. It was agreed to retain the cleaners throughout winter @ $87.50 per fortnight. NE to

    organise for cleaners to do other cleaning jobs eg windows/ovens etc. NE

  15. Safety Officer

  17. Commodore’s report
  18. EK reported that the Winter Series starts in 2 weeks time. The production of the new Sailing

    Instruction booklet is underway and the aim is for it to be complete mid-July.

    NE questioned the validity of the dinghy 3 Bridges race on Sunday 16 May - the Sailing

    Committee agreed to discuss this with the Dinghy and Boatyard Captains and to change

    next year's sailing instructions, if necessary. EK

  19. Other Business
   11.1 The funeral for Christine Barker was held at the club on Thursday 13 May


    11.2
An incident occurred at the Presentation Evening held on 3 April 2004.
               Both Jake Jones (not a club member) and Marc Weynton were involved.
               The Doug Radford Trophy was badly damaged and repairs are estimated to cost $1,200
.              The committee agreed to repair the trophy immediately.
               DS and BMG agreed to draft a letter to both Jake and Marc saying the following:
